Rajiv Gujjalu

BA (Hons) in Economics and a Master's in Investment and Finance

Managing Director

Rajiv has been working in the financial services industry for the past 23 years in Mauritius and Canada. He started his career as a stockbroker and has over the years occupied various senior management positions. Rajiv has held senior positions with Cim Group, a listed financial services Group in Mauritius, since September 2009 as Managing Director and Chief Operations Officer. In 2014, he joined Metropolitan Mauritius, a subsidiary of MMI International as Chief Operations Officer and was promoted to the position of CEO in April 2015, position which he held until June 2019. Prior to joining Medscheme International in October 2020 , Rajiv was on assignment on behalf Ciel Healthcare in Uganda overseeing and restructuring their health insurance operations, IAA Healthcare. Rajiv is a Fellow member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors since 2012 and holds a BA (Hons) in Economics and a Master's in Investment and Finance. He was also awarded the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation by the Canadian Securities Institute in 2006.

Bernard, who holds a UK Honours degree from the British Computer Society, has previously worked across numerous IT roles in several industries namely pharmaceutical, sugar industry, tourism before joining Medscheme in 2008 as Head of IT.

Linda joined Medscheme in 2008 and worked her way up to Head of Operations since the last eight years.

Veronique Berthelot

Veronique has over 26 years of experience related to Customer Service Management in the insurance field. Before joining Medscheme as Operations Manager in 2015, Veronique was the Health Department Manager at City Brokers Ltd for 8 years.

Ashina Appadu

Head of Finance & Compliance

A Chartered Accountant and MSc graduate from the University of Mauritius, Ashina Appadu started her career at Ernst & Young in 2011 before joining Medscheme as Head of Finance and Compliance in 2017.

Isabelle Cangy

Isabelle has worked at Medscheme since 1989 and she has occupied various positions within the company. As Head of Client Relations, Isabelle is responsible for maintaining good relationships with Medscheme's various clients.

Josiane Eustasie

Head of Human Capital

With more than 25 years of experience in Secretariat and Administration both in Mauritius and abroad, Josiane joined Medscheme in 2008 and for the past 7 years, she has specialised in the Human Resources.

Dooshka holds a Bachelor's degree in computer applications and boasts more than 15 years of tenure at Medscheme. She commenced her journey with the company in December 2007, progressively advancing through various positions until she was appointed as the Project and Quality Manager
